Starting my car detailing career

In late 2015 an idea was born to start a car detailing business. My brother and I had no prior professional experience regarding car detailing, but we saw an opportunity – a large market and not much competition. From the start we knew we wanted to create our own ecosystem. That meant creating a unique approach to detailing for our market, introducing a new brand, developing our own client base, and setting up a set of processes that would ensure quality and build trust.

After going thru a detailing training program as part of Smart Detailing University by Chemical Guys in Czech Republic we set off our company Titanium LTD Belgrade in January of 2016. Over the years we improved our process of detailing, each year developing a better system and approach to detailing. This required us to be self critical and think outside the box when it came to improving the system.

Avoiding a dogmatic approach and having a deep understanding of what you are doing is essential to improving any process.

Detailing over the years

I did not spend my years in detailing just as business owner or manager, I spent many hours detailing cars, talking to clients, selling products and services, hiring and firing people, fixing mess ups and staying long hours at the shop. What may seem simple and easy on the surface has so much more under the surface. Understanding the finer things can save you a lot of time and by that extension money. Working with people is a pleasure only when done right, a business deal is only good when both parties are happy and a compromise is only good when neither party get what they want.

When you run a new successful business model there will be many who will imitate or try to imitate your model, and this is normal, it’s only important to stay ahead and be in the leading position. The key thing is to constantly improve what you have going on, implement new technologies that are truly good, and stay honest with your customers.

My courses are the sum of all my experience over the years and constantly improving, this means I’m sharing the essence of my detailing and retail business model, with real life examples.
